In 2020, Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans started an effort to make it easier to fire civil servants in the federal government. Contrary to what some Republicans say, these government employees are not the deep state. These civil servants—many of whom are our family, friends, and neighbors right here in Northern Virginia—are people who have chosen a life of public service, regardless of which party is in power.

But Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are deadset against passing this bill. They'll do everything in their power to block my bill and make sure the next Republican President can purge the federal workforce at his whim.
