If you think inflation is sufficiently painful, gird your loins. Yesterday, the White House hosted a large South Lawn event celebrating the so-called Inflation Reduction Act. The euphemistic name belies the high price we are going to pay for a likely political panacea rather than a policy solution.

Not only does it double the size of the Internal Revenue Service and pour $300 billion into climate solutions, it is also likely to drive up the cost of doing business. To stop inflation, we must demand lawmakers act to reduce government as a burden — not expand it.
