If you think inflation is sufficiently painful, gird your loins. Yesterday, the White House hosted a large South Lawn event celebrating the so-called Inflation Reduction Act. The euphemistic name belies the high price we are going to pay for a likely political panacea rather than a policy solution.

Not only does it double the size of the Internal Revenue Service and pour $300 billion into climate solutions, it is also likely to drive up the cost of doing business. To stop inflation, we must demand lawmakers act to reduce government as a burden — not expand it.

Is It Legal for the Administrative State To Redefine Gender?

Proposed rules issued by the Biden administration’s Department of Education seek to expand the federal definition of sex discrimination to include discrimination on the basis of “gender” and “gender identity.” But there’s a problem: the Department of Education lacks the constitutional authority to do this. It has attempted to through its rule-making procedures, justifying its massive administrative power grab by pointing to the Supreme Court’s 2019 ruling in Bostock v. Clayton County. Colorado Youth Tobacco, Vape Use at Record Lows

In 2021, only 30.4% of high school students in Colorado reported ever using an e-cigarette and only 16.1% reported current use, defined as having vaped on at least one occasion in the 30 days prior to the survey. Earlier this year, Coloradan lawmakers attempted to push through a bill that would have banned both flavored vapes, as well as other tobacco products, including menthol cigarettes.
