While you pay more for gas and groceries, massive corporations are making
record-breaking profits.
A recent Bloomberg article reports that: A measure of US profit margins
has reached its widest since 1950, suggesting that the prices charged by
businesses are outpacing their increased costs for production and labor.
It’s true that the costs facing companies have risen: A result of all
sorts of things, from supply chain issues to Russia’s war in Ukraine. But
companies are doing more than just passing along rising costs to
consumers. Some big corporations are raising prices to the point of
price-gouging, and it’s time Congress holds them accountable.

Katie will always stand up to corporate special interests to lower costs
for families. Earlier this year she introduced legislation to stop Big Oil
companies from price gouging and lower the cost of gas. While this bill
has passed in the House, it’s unfortunately stalled in the Senate.
