With two months left of the 2022 campaign season, I worry about the informed voter in my district. Do they understand their candidate, their positions, and their character? Do they know them? I invite everyone to my town hall and campaign trips. I answer all inquiries, phone calls, and emails — even those who disagree with me. I do it because I would represent all of us, more than my party and ideological circle. I want the voter to be informed. I encourage constituents — especially Jack Bergman — to debate and bring us tough questions. How can voters be informed when candidates refuse to debate or hold town halls? Voting based on the party isn't an informed voter; it isn't the crown jewel of our democracy. We can and should do better to preserve our American democracy. We are not just functionaries of our parties. This election isn't just Democrat vs. Republican; it's dignity and integrity vs. Bergman's deceit and deception.
