Farm Bill Feedback An integral part of the oversight and review process for future Farm Bills is getting direct input from producers, stakeholders, and consumers on how various programs are working for them. Hearing directly from farm country about what’s working and what’s not is the only way to ensure we craft a Farm Bill that meets the needs of rural America. I’ve always said that food security is national security, and America's farm families need policies from Washington that empower them to continue doing what they do best: feeding the globe. The House Agriculture Committee is pleased to offer the opportunity for members of the public to submit their feedback and ideas for the 2023 Farm Bill through an online form available here. I encourage all producers in the First District to fill out the form so we can best meet their needs and so they can continue to produce the safest, most affordable, and most abundant food supply in the world. In 2020, Congress passed the Merchant Mariners of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act to recognize the merchant mariners for their courage and contributions during the war. One of those mariners, Burnie Lewis, lives in Marianna. His medal was delivered to him last week, and I got to sit and talk with him about his role in the war effort and his life in Arkansas after the Allied victory. Veterans are a reminder that the freedoms many Americans take for granted are not without sacrifice. Our Greatest Generation stormed the beaches of Normandy, fought on islands in the South Pacific and marched across Europe to defeat tyranny. Right here in the First District, we have brave men and women who have put their lives on hold, and many times their lives on the line, so their fellow Americans can be free. We owe them our utmost gratitude and respect. POLITICO Biden, House GOP brace to collaborate after 2 years of noxious feuding “They’re going to have to retool their approach,” said Rep. Rick Crawford (R-Ark.). “Unless they are comfortable with continuing an adversarial relationship, I would think it would be in their interest to at least establish more of a conciliatory tone and a rapport.” Rep.
