Yesterday, Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a public health emergency [[link removed]] in response to the thousands of migrants arriving in the nation’s capital by bus from Arizona and Texas. Since April, more than 7,000 asylum seekers have been bussed in to Washington, D.C. as well as a couple other states where they might not have any support. By continuing to do this, Texas is not only creating further chaos but also fueling and worsening the ongoing humanitarian crisis. It’s time for this to stop.
