From her days as a public school teacher to her time as Majority Leader and President Pro Tem of the Vermont State Senate, Becca has stood by her principles . A former union member, she has always fought hard for working people. Under her leadership, Vermont raised the minimum wage, increased funding for affordable housing, and expanded access to childcare, helping tens of thousands of working families .

While the Supreme Court and Republican led states have been stripping away reproductive rights, Becca led the fight in the Vermont legislature to pass the strongest reproductive rights protections in the nation. When the NRA and the gun lobby worked to stop gun safety legislation in her state, Becca took them head on and passed the first gun safety laws in Vermont’s history .
