I saw so many old friends and supporters out and about, and it was a thrill to talk with everyone while celebrating our shared Caribbean heritage.

Our community is stronger than ever, and it shows. The energy on the streets yesterday showed how much culture and community Caribbean Americans have brought to not just New York but also the entire country.

I even got to see my good friend and colleague, Rep. Stacey Plaskett. It’s an honor to work alongside Stacey on the issues that matter most to us and our communities from advocating for economic opportunities to lowering the costs of housing and health care.

Together in the House Caribbean Caucus, we amplify the voices of the Caribbean diaspora and the values we share. Help keep both us of in Washington where we belong by making a split donation to both of our campaigns! [[link removed]]

Together, we’re standing up against an anti-immigrant GOP and pushing the Biden administration to do more to ensure immigrants seeking refuge in the U.S. are welcome with open arms. We’re fighting to reform systems that have for too long kept our communities down from lack of access to economic opportunities to housing and health care policy.

And above all else, I’m just so proud to be a part of this community. Yesterday was so full of community and artistry and I’m already looking forward to next year.

For our culture,

– Yvette
