ADL CEO Uses Historic Event to Highlight Growing Antisemitism and Anti-Zionist Trends



Marking the 125th Anniversary of the First World Zionist Congress, CEO Jonathan Greenblatt joined Jewish leaders from around the world for a conference that examined how Zionism has developed since the 1897 Congress, convened by the leader of modern Zionism, Theodor Herzl. Israel and the Middle East

strongly condemned comments by Palestinian President Abbas who, in a press conference alongside the German Chancellor in Berlin, falsely claimed Israel was committing &ldquo;50 Holocausts&rdquo; against the Palestinian people.

ADL blog highlighted the ongoing misinformation campaign that falsely blames Jews for the 1969 Al-Aksa Mosque arson that was carried out by a Protestant extremist from Australia.


In response to reports about intensified human rights abuses by the Iranian regime towards its Bahai population, ADL&rsquo;s Task Force on Middle Eastern Minorites

issued a statement calling on the international community to pressure Iran to halt its abusive policies.

Europe


In response to potential legislation that would ban Jewish circumcision, Andrew Srulevitch, Director of European Affairs, visited Stockholm and Copenhagen for consultations with Jewish communal leaders and security directors, extremism researchers, and other NGO partners. Also discussed were issues of extremist threats to those Jewish communities and ADL educational programs.


ADL delivered Words to Action trainings at the European Union of Jewish Students' (EUJS) Summer U event in Lisbon. ADL also delivered three Words to Action trainings in Germany.

ADL joined with the Argentinian Jewish community in
