ADL CEO Uses Historic Event to Highlight Growing Antisemitism and Anti-Zionist Trends | |
Marking the 125th Anniversary of the First World Zionist Congress, CEO Jonathan Greenblatt joined Jewish leaders from around the world for a conference that examined how Zionism has developed since the 1897 Congress, convened by the leader of modern Zionism, Theodor Herzl. As part of the program, Jonathan spoke at a plenary session on the rise of antisemitic attacks in US and the growing trend of anti-Zionism.
In an op-ed published for the event, Jonathan wrote about the need to both celebrate the significance of the first Zionist Congress in Basel and pushed back against the growing threat of anti-Zionism. And, in a related op-ed, Ken Jacobson, Deputy National Director, wrote about the history and goals of the original Basel conference.
