A year ago today, Texas forever changed the national abortion landscape.

One law -- S.B. 8 -- banned abortion at just six weeks of pregnancy, and allowed private citizens to sue people who provide abortions or help others access abortion after that point. Because of S.B. 8, Planned Parenthood patients from a Texas zip code had to travel more than 300 miles farther, on average, to access abortion care than those who sought care in the months before the ban took effect.

Over the past year, this community has shared heartbreak and rage. When S.B 8 went into effect, the Planned Parenthood community responded immediately.

As we mark this painful anniversary and look ahead to the work to come, we're counting on your continued commitment. You can help by making a special contribution to Planned Parenthood today, so that we can continue to educate people about sexual and reproductive health, ensure patients can access care at Planned Parenthood health centers, and do everything we can to restore and protect abortion access in every community around the country.
