The Early Childhood Leadership Summit - August Convening Recap

The Hunt Institute partners with Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning in supporting Indiana literacy efforts

This past month, Governor Eric J. Holcomb and Secretary of Education Dr. Katie Jenner of the Indiana Department of Education announced a $111 million grant from the Lilly Endowment to support early literacy ([link removed]) . The Hunt Institute is a proud partner with the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL) in this work, and are looking forward to supporting the implementation of Science of Reading for Hoosier students.

SAS, Hunt Institute partner to help states alleviate learning loss effects of COVID-19

Read SAS's blog post ([link removed]) on the Chief State School Officers Retreats ([link removed]) , which were co-hosted by the Hunt Institute and SAS and focused on accelerating learning and reducing achievement gaps. The retreats are a critical component of the COVID Constituency initiative ([link removed]) , which aims to translate public priorities and needs into policy action for policymakers and education leaders. Research Brief: Measuring Educational Opportunity in North Carolina Public School Districts
Dr. Robert C. Carr ([link removed]) is a research scientist at the Center for Child and Family Policy ([link removed]) at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy ([link removed]) . In a research brief titled “Measuring Educational Opportunity in North Carolina Public School Districts ([link removed]) ,” Dr. Carr examines data on the reading and math achievement of students in North Carolina public schools as they progress from third to eighth grade.
