Last year, robocallers scammed U.S. consumers out of $429 million. And because they can avoid the federal Do Not Call Registry, scammers can attempt to scam someone a limitless amount of times over the phone with zero repercussions.
With bipartisan support, the bill Suzan co-sponsored passed the House as a way to strengthen protections for consumers who receive these scam calls and demand phone carriers like AT&T and Verizon start deploying call authentication protocols.
