Back to school inspired learning opportunities for the whole family
As kids head back into classrooms, it's a good time to consider expanding learning and knowledge for everyone. Here are some opportunities to keep your mind sharp and help the whole family learn, while having fun at the same time.

Nebraska's nine state historical parks are brimming with history. Walk the historic grounds, explore reconstructed buildings, attend living history events, and peruse visitor center museums to take a trip back in the past.

Game and Parks hosts fun, informative events throughout the year designed to help you explore the outdoors. Keep your eyes peeled for the "Science of..." and "Nebraska Nature Nerd Night" events, among others!

Visit a nature education center
Nature centers are a great place to spend some time. Check out the Schramm Education Center [ [link removed] ] in Gretna to see and learn about Nebraska's native species through interactive exhibits, or visit the Wildcat Hills Nature Center [ [link removed] ] to learn about the unique plants and animals of the Pine Ridge.

Fill out a Junior Ranger booklet
These fun activity guides are offered for free at three parks: Chadron State Park [ [link removed] ], Ash Hollow State Historical Park [ [link removed] ] and Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area [ [link removed] ]. Filled with activities for kids of all ages, these booklets are a way to help young visitors engage with what they're seeing at the park. Kids can receive a badge for filling it out, too!
