This morning I appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe to have a conversation about our party's nominating process.
We talked about how, as a party that values inclusion, diversity, and participation, Democrats should be willing to tell the truth about our primaries. Starting our nominating process in Iowa and New Hampshire just doesn't make sense--and it's time for a change.
Even Joe Scarborough agrees: the Democratic Party and nation have changed a lot since 1972 and we need to match our party's diversity.

If we're going to live our values as Democrats, we need to speak honestly. While Iowa and New Hampshire voters have been dedicated and thoughtful partners in the nominating process, the truth is we need to change how we elect a nominee.
The candidate who takes on Trump will need to bring people together from all backgrounds and tell the truth at a time when Trump is setting records for lying. This campaign has done just that.
We will continue to lift up the voices of vulnerable people and those that are too often ignored. We will continue to address our biggest problems, and we will keep speaking the truth.
