Yesterday, Reuters reported that Doug Mastriano, the Republican running to be Pennsylvania’s next Governor, wore a Confederate uniform in 2013 .

Now, I remember when my dad told me what the Confederate flag was, and what it represents. It’s a symbol that reflects white supremacy — and the enslavement of Black people.

It’s reprehensible that Doug Mastriano would wear the Confederate uniform — and promote that dark, hateful history.

It’s up to this team — right here, right now — to take a stand and defend our values against Mastriano’s racist ideology. We cannot elect a leader like Mastriano — he is unfit to be Governor.
