Yesterday, Reuters reported that Doug Mastriano, the Republican running to be Pennsylvania’s next Governor, wore a Confederate uniform in 2013.

Now, I remember when my dad told me what the Confederate flag was, and what it represents. It’s a symbol that reflects white supremacy — and the enslavement of Black people.

It’s reprehensible that Doug Mastriano would wear the Confederate uniform — and promote that dark, hateful history.

It’s up to this team — right here, right now — to take a stand and defend our values against Mastriano’s racist ideology. We cannot elect a leader like Mastriano — he is unfit to be Governor.

It is more important than ever to beat Doug Mastriano and elect Josh Shapiro. If you’re able, can you donate whatever amount you’re able to support the Shapiro-Davis team in this race?

This news is tough to hear, John. But it just goes to show exactly why we need to win this race — and fight for values like respect, equality, and fairness.
