We Are Puget Sound

John,
We all appreciate the beauty and splendor of our shared Puget Sound and Salish Sea waters. Do you remember what first inspired you to protect this place? For me, it was my childhood growing up here in the Puget Sound region. A high school class gave me the chance to dig around in the mud for hermit crabs and sea stars to draw, and I discovered a whole new tiny world I had never seen before.
In October, in partnership with Braided River and numerous organizations working for positive change, we launched the We Are Puget Sound book and public engagement campaign. The book and campaign connect people and place through stories of remarkable people shepherding change in their communities. [[link removed]]

As Joseph Gaydos of Seadoc Society says, “Getting people to know and connect to the place where they live is essential if you want them to steward and protect it. We Are Puget Sound introduces newcomers and old-timers alike to the diverse natural history and the diverse people that make this region special.”
