We Are Puget Sound No images? Click here John, We all appreciate the beauty and splendor of our shared Puget Sound and Salish Sea waters. Do you remember what first inspired you to protect this place? For me, it was my childhood growing up here in the Puget Sound region. A high school class gave me the chance to dig around in the mud for hermit crabs and sea stars to draw, and I discovered a whole new tiny world I had never seen before. In October, in partnership with Braided River and numerous organizations working for positive change, we launched the We Are Puget Sound book and public engagement campaign. The book and campaign connect people and place through stories of remarkable people shepherding change in their communities. We Are Puget Sound: Discovering and Rediscovering the Salish Sea is the perfect gift this holiday season! Share the wonderment of Puget Sound and the Salish Sea with your family and friends, and inspire others to join you in protecting this place we love. As Joseph Gaydos of Seadoc Society says, “Getting people to know and connect to the place where they live is essential if you want them to steward and protect it. We Are Puget Sound introduces newcomers and old-timers alike to the diverse natural history and the diverse people that make this region special.” Order your copy of We Are Puget Sound, one of the Pacific Northwest Bookseller’s Association’s bestsellers this year, or find a local bookstore that carries the book here. As 2019 comes to a close, we are continuing our work to protect and restore Puget Sound and the greater Salish Sea. Stay engaged by following us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, where we are sharing actions all of us can take to support our home. We hope you enjoy We Are Puget Sound!
