Friends, As you likely know by now, Sharice Davids is spending tens of thousands of dollars to deceive Kansans with lies in an effort to win reelection this November. Many of you have reached out in the past few weeks to share your disappointment in the mailers you have received and the ads you have seen because you know they are blatantly false and intentionally misleading. Sharice Davids is trying to run from her voting record which clearly states that she votes with Joe Biden 100% of the time. Throughout every single crisis that Joe Biden has caused from the failed withdrawal from Afghanistan to out-of-control inflation and the humanitarian crisis at the Southern border to reckless spending that’s caused record inflation, Sharice Davids has supported all of his policies. Instead of running on her own failed record, she’s running on lies and deception. As a result of the confusion Sharice Davids and her campaign is causing voters, I felt it appropriate to clarify my position and cut through the politics with the truth. I published an op ed this week so that all voters can hear directly from me and understand what I believe. To read the full op ed, click here. As a Catholic, a Republican, and a mother, I have always been pro-life and am 100% committed to protecting life at every stage. I have held this belief throughout my entire life, and that will not change just because I am elected to Congress. This deeply held belief is what motivated me to start a charity supporting young children so they can be healthy and ready for kindergarten and success beyond. I also believe in the federalist system our Founding Fathers chose for our country. In bringing together thirteen colonies to form one nation, they recognized the importance of keeping power closer to the people. They enshrined their solution, federalism, in the 10th Amendment to the Constitution: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” With its Dobbs opinion, the U.S. Supreme Court has taken authority over abortion-related policy questions out of the hands of unelected judges and returned that power to we, the people. Decisions on abortion policy belong close to the people, at the state level, and that’s where I’ll work to keep them as a member of Congress. I don’t support a federal ban on abortion, nor do I support any other federal policymaking related to contraception or fertility. As a pro-life candidate, I will continue to be part of the dialogue on this issue at the state level, but I believe it’s not Congress’ place to impose a national abortion policy on Kansans. My record and positions are clear, and you have my word: I will continue to defend the Constitution, oppose government overreach in our lives, and support local control. I will do everything in my power to support women, mothers, children, and families. While always valuing life at every stage, I will oppose a federal ban on abortion and respect Kansas’ right to decide abortion policy questions for itself. If you have additional questions about my beliefs or plans to represent Kanans as a member of Congress, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or my team. I have been and will continue to run a clean campaign rooted in truth with the goal of protecting every life. Build and believe, Not produced at government expense.
