Last week, CNN named him as one of the gubernatorial candidates promoting dangerous conspiracy theories to voters. Then just days later, he used a campaign event to do just that — spreading blatant lies about voter fraud in Maine to advance his personal agenda.

LePage wants to claim voter fraud because he can’t admit the truth: people don’t want to vote for him. Unlike Governor Mills, LePage has never won a majority of votes in a statewide election, so he’s getting ready to throw the results of November’s election into doubt if he falls short.

The right to vote in a free and fair election is an essential right for every U.S. citizen — in Maine and nationwide.
