After more than 14 hours of debate, the House Judiciary Committee voted to impeach President Donald Trump this morning. The two articles of impeachment-abuse of power and obstruction of justice-will head to the full House floor for a vote next week.

The facts on impeachment are clear: Any president who behaves as Trump has in abusing the power of the presidency to bribe a foreign power into investigating a political rival threatens the very foundation of U.S. democracy. And according the U.S. Constitution, the only way to hold Trump accountable is for the House of Representatives to impeach him and for the Senate to remove him from office.

It is critical that Americans understand what is happening and what is at stake. This week, CAP Action and Stand Up American launched TrumpandImpeachment.com <[link removed]> as a resource to provide information on impeachment facts, key players, and the process itself.

Who Doesn't Want Lower Drug Prices?

Yesterday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 3, or the Lower Drug Costs Now Act-the most transformative legislation to lower prescription drug prices in a generation. The bill enables Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices; extends these lower prices to consumers in the commercial market; and reinvests $358 billion in savings into strengthening the Medicare benefit package to include dental, vision, and hearing coverage. Not only would this legislation produce significant savings for millions of Americans with chronic conditions such as diabetes, but the reinvestment into Medicare would also save seniors hundreds of dollars every year on traditionally uncovered out-of-pocket expenses.
