Dear Friend,

In the last month, we have learned two lessons that can seismically shift
the outcome of the midterm elections:

 1. In a state with abortion on the ballot, an incredible half of new
voter registrations in the past 30 days were voters under 25 years
old.(1) In fact, new polling shows young voters are considerably more
likely to vote based on abortion rights than other age group.(2)
 2. Nearly half of the users of Courage California's Voter Guide for the
primary election were 18 to 34 years old.

Young voters are absolutely critical to widening the Democratic majority
in Congress in November -- we know they were the only reason Democrats
prevailed in many key districts in 2020, and we can repeat that turnout in
2022.(3) We have in hand both the messaging and the Voter Guide we need to
turn out those voters for Democrats -- it's just a matter of reaching
them.

Roe v. Wade is turning out to be extremely significant to the young voter.

And California is one of the few states that has abortion on the ballot
this year, with voters being asked to decide on a proposition protecting
not just abortion, but also contraception, no matter who is in the
government.(4)

Our Voter Guide explains what's at stake with this proposition, but that's
not all. The Voter Guide lays out where money behind campaigns comes from,
who has endorsed candidates, and what difference they are likely to make.
This is the kind of information that appeals to Generation Z voters, which
is why they took advantage of the Voter Guide in the last primary.

Now we need to ensure that every young voter possible sees the Courage
Voter Guide. Here’s how we’re going to do it:

 1. Leverage the social media that Generation Z uses, including Instagram,
TikTok, and Snapchat, to inform young voters what’s at stake in this
election and how they can use the Courage Voter Guide to inform their
vote.
 2. Purchase an unprecedented ad buy on Google to ensure that any young
voter who searches for information on candidates sees the Courage
Voter Guide.
 3. Staff a get-out-the-vote program on the ground to reach young voters
where they are.

The more money we raise right now, the more young voters we can reach and
ensure that Democrats maintain the majority in November. The stakes have
never been higher. Will you chip in?

Yours in the fight for our democracy,

Irene, along with Amber, Angela, Annie, Isidra, Jay, Lindsay, LisaMarie,
