Insomnia and type 2
Our new research has revealed that insomnia may cause high blood sugar levels, and increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Excitingly, the findings suggest that treatments that tackle insomnia could also help to prevent or treat type 2.

Gestational diabetes research
With our funding, Dr James Bowe is working out if gestational diabetes during pregnancy has a lasting impact on the pancreas and blood sugar control in mother and baby. He's exploring why having gestational diabetes can increase someone’s future risk of type 2 in later life.
