The COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s war on Ukraine have disrupted global supply chains. Everyone is struggling – except big corporations. They have taken advantage of global crises to hike prices on everything from apples to gasoline, all to pad their bottom lines and impress Wall Street investors!

People are struggling to make ends meet while corporations make record profits. This is unacceptable. It’s time to stop the price-gouging!

Representative Jamaal Bowman has introduced the Emergency Price Stabilization Act of 2022. This legislation targets the root causes of price-gouging,, creates strong mechanisms to investigate how and why prices are rising and provides relief to workers, renters, and consumers during price shocks.

* Engage and mobilize the public as part of the process of monitoring and regulating prices.
