Greetings, comrades!
Thank you to everyone who came to our picnic last Saturday at Tucker's Grove. There were many familiar faces and some new ones as well. We shared food and even did a little bit of organizing. There have been some important developments in Santa Barbara toward affordable housing. Reply to this email if you'd like information on how to help.
In case you missed the last one, we will be having another picnic over Labor Day weekend!

Come join us in celebration for barbecue, camaraderie, updates on local happenings, and maybe even frisbee. We will provide food but feel free to bring more. We hope to see you there.

* Sunday, September 3rd
* 1pm-5pm
We are also excited to announce the start of our new:
** Political Education Discussion Series
📚🌹📚
------------------------------------------------------------
To kick off the start of our new poli-ed series, transit enthusiast, urban planning student, and member of our very own steering committee Andrew Hawkins will be presenting a talk entitled "Public Transit Basics and the Problem with Free Transit". The talk will take place on Saturday, September 24th. Location and time to follow!
If you are interested in hosting your own poli-ed discussion, please reply to this email or reach out to someone from steering and let them know! We hope to hold discussions monthly and learn a little bit more about one another and the movements of which we are a part.
If the workers of the world want to win, all they have to do is recognize their own solidarity. They have nothing to do but fold their arms and the world will stop. The workers are more powerful with their hands in their pockets than all the property of the capitalists.
