1. Big Primary Wins This Week!
This was an exciting week with primaries in Arizona, Michigan, Ohio, Kansas, Missouri and Washington! 88% of our candidates WON their elections [[link removed]] .
Here are some of the highlights:
Game Changer candidate Sharice Davids won her primary and is one step closer to heading back to the U.S. Congress [[link removed]] this November! All our incumbent state House candidates – Heather Meyer, Susan Ruiz and Brandon Woodard – also advanced in their primaries.
Kansans also voted on a ballot initiative to remove abortion protections from the Kansas state Constitution [[link removed]] . Kansans overwhelmingly voted to protect the right to choose [[link removed]] – a big win for the pro-choice movement! Game Changer candidates Kris Mayes in Arizona and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel both advanced in their primaries. Kris emphasized the importance of keeping election deniers out of positions of power to preserve democracy in the United States [[link removed]] . She’ll be facing a Trump-endorsed Big Lie supporter in the General Election this fall. Similar to Mayes, Dana Nessel is also facing an election denier who is buddy-buddy with January 6th organizers [[link removed]] .
LGBTQ trailblazer Jim Obergefell won his primary election for the Ohio state House [[link removed]] ! Flipping this seat in November will be a huge win for the LGBTQ community.

2. Tina Kotek Condemns Opponent for Confederate Flags at Campaign Events
Game Changer candidate Tina Kotek ’s opponent had white supremacist symbols at a recent rally – and has refused to denounce them! [[link removed]] Tina quickly condemned her opponent’s inaction and emphasized the importance of holding leaders accountable. [[link removed]]

Tina also launched a new campaign ad for her gubernatorial race highlights Tina’s plan to address the ongoing mental health and addiction crises in the state. [[link removed]]
3. Heather Mizeur Rejects Partisan Politics
Game Changer candidate Heather Mizeur has spent years working towards diminishing the current political divide in this country [[link removed]] . She worked within the Maryland state legislature for almost a decade before forming her own nonprofit to uplift nonpartisan politics. 4. Becca Balint Launches New Ad
Game Changer candidate Becca Balint released a new ad this week to remind voters of what’s at stake this election and how our fundamental rights are at risk [[link removed]] . This ad comes just one week before Becca’s primary election for Vermont’s at-large Congressional district on August 9.
Becca recently received endorsements from U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and U.S. Senator Ed Markey [[link removed]] , which will further boost her high poll numbers ahead of the election. If you’re in Vermont, don’t forget to head to the polls and cast your ballot!
5. A Record Number of LGBTQ Candidates Are Running for Minnesota’s Legislature
The 2022 midterm election cycle has broken the record for the most LGBTQ candidates running for the Minnesota state legislature! [[link removed]] Spotlight candidates Leigh Finke and Erin Maye Quade join a group of 11 outstanding LGBTQ candidates running to bring critical representation to the legislature, which currently hast just four out LGBTQ members [[link removed]] .
Leigh, who would be the first trans state lawmaker in Minnesota history, has promised to protect the right to choose and marked Kanas’ recent vote to protect abortion rights as a sign of hope for the nation [[link removed]] .
