We have major news. With the Florida primary election coming up on August 23, Nikki Fried’s campaign has just released an incredible broadcast TV ad that we didn’t want you to miss.

The ad shows Nikki Fried, who would be Florida’s first female governor, walking through Florida’s 46 governors (all men), calling for something new.

In this race for governor of Florida, Nikki is the only candidate who has always been pro-choice, and the only candidate who has never taken a dime from the National Rifle Association.

She is also the ONLY Democrat who has won Florida since Barack Obama in 2012.

Fried is running against self-proclaimed pro-life “Democrat” Charlie Crist in Florida’s Democratic primary. Crist launched an unsuccessful bid for Senate (he ran as a Republican) in 2010, during which he made a campaign promise to promote “pro-life” measures in Congress – as well as support a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. Now, 12 years later, when asked “what’s changed” since the days of his full-throated opposition to a woman’s right to choose, he responded, “nothing.” (Since the fall of Roe in June, Crist decided that being pro-choice was a better political move in this election, but his record on all of this is public.)

Crist has lost every statewide race he’s entered since he ran as a Republican in 2006. Meanwhile, Nikki Fried is the only Democrat to currently hold a statewide elective position in Florida. The choice is clear: we need a progressive, pro-choice, anti-NRA candidate to go up against Ron DeSantis in November, but first, she needs our help.

Once elected, Nikki Fried will be Florida’s first-ever woman governor, and we are dedicated to helping her shatter that glass ceiling. That is why we want to amplify her message ahead of the August 23 primary.
