Fried is running against self-proclaimed pro-life “Democrat” Charlie Crist in Florida’s Democratic primary. Crist launched an unsuccessful bid for Senate (he ran as a Republican) in 2010, during which he made a campaign promise to promote “pro-life” measures in Congress – as well as support a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. Now, 12 years later, when asked “what’s changed” since the days of his full-throated opposition to a woman’s right to choose, he responded, “nothing.” (Since the fall of Roe in June, Crist decided that being pro-choice was a better political move in this election, but his record on all of this is public.)

Crist has lost every statewide race he’s entered since he ran as a Republican in 2006. Meanwhile, Nikki Fried is the only Democrat to currently hold a statewide elective position in Florida. The choice is clear: we need a progressive, pro-choice, anti-NRA candidate to go up against Ron DeSantis in November, but first, she needs our help.
