** The spice of life
------------------------------------------------------------

We received an unusual number of letters to the editor in praise of our July 27 issue. I’m not trying to brag—as I said, it was unusual! The theme of much of the encouragement was the issue’s variety: it covered the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the 1960s radical theology movement, paid medical leave in the church, the importance of childhood play, and a defense of religious conversion. Not to mention some fascinating book reviews and poems. (You can check out the entire issue here ([link removed]) .)

Our latest content on the web is also incredibly varied.
