What a difference a week makes! We are now the closest we’ve EVER been to passing federal climate legislation.
I’m finally feeling some hope. We have a chance - right now - to protect our children and grandchildren’s future.
Independent researchers have analyzed this legislation, and they say it could drive emissions down by 40% by 2030 - making it possible to reach 50% through administrative and state and local actions. That means that we have a shot to avoid the worst climate change predictions - predictions we are already feeling with scorching heat waves, deadly storms, and dangerous and expensive flooding.
If this bill is going to get passed, we need to hold every Democratic member of the Pennsylvania congressional delegation and get them to put pressure on their colleagues. Friend, if you're in a position to give, please renew your membership to help ensure we have the resources to fight hard now while also moving full steam ahead with our state priorities. By coming together, we can pass this historic cost-saving legislation that will make overdue investments in clean energy, improve energy security, and build a more affordable, healthy, just, and equitable future.
