We must confront those who protect the status quo in our justice system - too many of our neighbors feel unsafe and are experiencing violence. Too many in our community have no faith in our justice system. For our next County Attorney, the most pressing issue must be bringing us all together to make our system work for everyone.

There should be no question about whether it's time for a change. Guns and violent crime are impacting every community across Hennepin County. No one should feel afraid in their homes or on their blocks, but change won’t happen if we keep applying the same old tactics and practices that have failed time and again in the past.

We've had over 50 homicides in our largest city this year. Clearly, the current state of our public safety system is not working. As the next County Attorney, I will work with communities, agencies and departments to develop solutions to rising crime that will make us all safer. The one-size-fits-all approach that some of the candidates in this race have proposed just won’t do.
