2022 Poster Art Entries! Extended Deadline for Entries!

Nomination deadlines have been extended for the *"2022 Lex Frieden Employment Awards [ [link removed] ]"* and for entries for the *"2022 Poster Art Competition [ [link removed] ]"*.

The deadline for entries in the *2022 NDEAM Poster Art Competition* [ [link removed] ]is extended through *"Monday, August 8, 2022"*, by the close of business. This competition will award an exceptional Texas artist with a disability who can capture (in the art medium of their choosing) a reflection on some aspect of work or employment. Judges will choose a winner based on creativity, originality, interest, and use of materials. The competition will take place leading to National Disability Employment Awareness Month (October), so judges may also consider if an art submission is relevant to the NDEAM 2022 theme [ [link removed] ], ?Disability: Part of the Equity Equation.?

The Submission Guidelines [ [link removed] ]?explain what is needed in order for an art submission?to be eligible to participate in this competition. The winner will earn the honor of being featured on our 2022 NDEAM Poster which is distributed around the State of Texas and beyond! 2022 Lex Frieden Employment Awards Deadline Extended!

The nomination deadline for the *2022 Lex Frieden Employment Awards [ [link removed] ]* is now *"Monday August 8,"* *"2022"*, by the close of business. These awards recognize employers who have consistently exceeded requirements to ensure full inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace. Submission Guidelines and Employment Award nomination forms are available on the GCPD website. In the link provided above, scroll to the section, "How to Submit a Nomination."

*Self-nominations* are accepted and encouraged. There is *no fee* to nominate an employer, an innovative local community project or someone deserving of recognition for lifetime achievement in the disability community. Do not miss this opportunity to recognize the great work being done throughout the State of Texas in support of Texans with disabilities.

Award categories include:


* Employer Awards [ [link removed] ] (Small, Medium and Large) - Businesses in Texas that foster a diverse and accessible workplace.
* Entrepreneurship Award [ [link removed] ] - A living entrepreneur with a disability who embodies the drive to create and sustain a successful business.
* Martha Arbuckle Award [ [link removed] ] - An innovative local committee project.
* Governor?s Trophy [ [link removed] ]- An individual with a lifetime of achievement in support of Texans with disabilities.

Each year, the GCPD partners with the Texas Workforce Commission and Texas Workforce Solutions to promote the Texas HireAbility [ [link removed] ]campaign to raise awareness about the benefits of hiring people with disabilities and to highlight the contributions of people with disabilities in the workforce.
