After the COVID-19 pandemic, we've reevaluated our view of mental health as a nation. [[link removed]]
And, by June 30th, our state Legislature will have a decision on Gov. Tom Wolf's budget, which allocates mental health resources to counties across Pennsylvania. John, as an ER doctor, I've worked with patients who suffered mental health crises, and sadly, by the time I see them, it's often too late. We must be more proactive with our healthcare system, especially in the area of mental health. [[link removed]]

The proposed state budget has an increase of $37 million for county programs helping people living with addiction and mental health issues.
Fortunately, our Government is finally taking up this just cause to help all of us live with dignity and safety. For far too long, the demand for mental health resources increased while resources couldn't keep up.
But, this new budget is an excellent step in the right direction. This additional funding for health programs will help our neighbors, friends, and family before it's too late.
John, I've seen far too many mental health crises turn to tragedy as an ER doc. We have the power to make sure our people have safe and productive resources to get the help they need.
