We’re down to the last two. And it’s awful. 



Either Rishi Sunak or Liz Truss is set to become the next PM. They will be elected by a base of around 160,000 Tory members - around 0.3% of the UK’s total electorate.





Unless you’re part of that 0.3%, you won’t get a say in who becomes our next PM. You won’t get a chance to make change. 





We’re angry at this unrepresentative way of making huge changes to our political establishment, and we’re angry that changing the tenant at Number 10, won’t actually mean change for the better. 





Whether it’s Sunak or Truss, the future looks pretty bleak. Both candidates have signalled their intention to press ahead with breaking international law by unilaterally overturning the Northern Ireland Protocol. Both have taken a deeply unpleasant populist stance on deportations of those fleeing persecution to Rwanda, and both have failed to come up with clear policies to tackle the climate emergency we’re facing. 





Neither candidate offers the change Britain needs. 





We’re not going to sit idly by and pretend everything is great just because Johnson is on his way out. Instead, we’re going to keep advocating for the change you need. 





Whether it’s detailed behind-the-scenes work to reform damaging legislation, meetings with parliamentarians to urge for a fairer voting system, or social media campaigns to engage people with a better politics, we’re fighting to get this nativist, isolationist and damaging regime out of Westminster once and for all.
