Even though abortion is still legal in Michigan, Attorney General (and Game Changer candidate) Dana Nessel spoke out this week about protecting personal data in a post- Roe world. This week, Game Changer candidate Maura Healey was a guest on the New York Times Sway podcast. 5. Spotlight Candidate Speaks Out Against Trans Sports Ban
A school district in Pennsylvania voted this week to ban trans students from joining sports teams [[link removed]] that align with their gender identity. This is the first trans sports ban adopted by a school board in the state. Spotlight candidate Izzy Smith-Wade-El - who is President of the Lancaster City Council - quickly condemned the move. [[link removed]] Izzy is running for the state house and will be the first out LGBTQ person to ever represent Lancaster in the state legislature. [[link removed]]
