THE WEEK'S BIG 3

The House committee investigating the Jan.6 insurrection on the U.S. Capitol made the case on Tuesday that allies within the Trump world had closely coordinated with far-right extremist groups in the lead up to the attack. Jan. 6 Committee Shows Evidence of Coordination Between Far-Right Extremist Groups and Trump Allies

“Trump's Dec. 19 tweet, which read: ‘Statistically impossible to have lost the 2020 election. Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!’ spread like wildfire among far-right groups, said Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md. In the hours after that tweet was posted, Kelly Meggs, the head of the Florida Oath Keepers, posted a message on Facebook pledging that his group would ‘work together’ with the Three-Percenters and Proud Boys.” NPR:

Jewish Groups Denounce Presbyterian Church USA Calling Israel an ‘Apartheid’ State
“Choosing to utilize such a caustic and demonizing term as apartheid — or, worse, comparing Israel's actions to those of the Nazis during the Holocaust — feeds into an unhealthy discourse that, despite all the injustice in the world, positions Israel, and only Israel, as uniquely evil among the nations.” The Christian Post:

ADL tweet: We are deeply disturbed that PCUSA commissioners passed this demonizing resolution falsely labeling Israel as an apartheid state and comparing its treatment of Palestinians to the Holocaust, a decision that will only harm the church’s relations with the Jewish community.
