They say we don't have the money for student loan debt forgiveness or universal healthcare, but for some reason there's always more money for the military and its contractors.

It gets even worse:?The House Armed Services Committee has added $37 billion more for the Pentagon in the latest National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).?That's enough to eradicate homelessness in the United States and still have money left over.



This week, the House of Representatives is deciding on hundreds of amendments to the NDAA. Luckily,?Representatives Lee and Pocan have introduced an amendment to eliminate that increase and another to cut the topline budget by $100 billion more!

And this is just the Department of Defense budget! This doesn't even include the billions going to nuclear war preparation at the Department of Energy or the billions being used to militarize the US-Mexico border through the Department of Homeland Security.
