While millions of Americans struggle to afford housing, healthcare, education, and other needs, President Biden has asked Congress for over $810 billion for the Pentagon in 2023. They say we don't have the money for student loan debt forgiveness or universal healthcare, but for some reason there's always more money for the military and its contractors.

Tell your Representative to support amendments to cut the Pentagon budget!

It gets even worse: The House Armed Services Committee has added $37 billion more for the Pentagon in the latest National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). That's enough to eradicate homelessness in the United States and still have money left over.

This week, the House of Representatives is deciding on hundreds of amendments to the NDAA. Luckily, Representatives Lee and Pocan have introduced an amendment to eliminate that increase and another to cut the topline budget by $100 billion more!

Act now! Tell your member that you want to CUT THE PENTAGON, not raise its budget endlessly!

And this is just the Department of Defense budget! This doesn't even include the billions going to nuclear war preparation at the Department of Energy or the billions being used to militarize the US-Mexico border through the Department of Homeland Security. We must resist any and all additions to this egregious and disgraceful budget, and put the needs of the people and the planet first. Act now!
