Democrats recently introduced the Transgender Bill of Rights to, among other things, add “gender identity” to the list of protected categories in the Civil Rights Act of 1964. But allowing anyone who says they identify as female into women’s spaces, such as athletic teams, sororities, domestic violence shelters, and women’s prisons, harms women.
At IWF, we are acutely aware of these risks — which is why a couple of months ago we launched the Women’s Bill of Rights to preserve single-sex spaces that are important for privacy, safety, or equal opportunity. Our Bill of Rights is better, but hey, imitation is the highest form of flattery.
