New report from the AHA shows alcohol labels are missing key information.

** Alcohol labelling “still failing consumers”, says the AHA
------------------------------------------------------------

Alcohol labelling is failing consumers by leaving key information, such as ingredients and sugar content, off most packaging. That’s the conclusion from a new report published by the Alcohol Health Alliance UK (AHA) ([link removed]) . A survey of labels on 369 alcohol products found just 6% displayed the sugar content and 20% provided the full list of ingredients. The AHA is calling on the UK Government to make it a legal requirement for alcohol companies to display nutritional information and health warnings on their products.

** New study on evaluating MUP in Scotland published
------------------------------------------------------------
Public Health Scotland has published a new study evaluating the impact of minimum unit pricing (MUP) on harmful drinkers. The study found that there was no clear evidence whether or not MUP reduced alcohol consumption among harmful drinkers, including those with dependence. As MUP is primarily aimed at prevention, rather than being a solution for people with alcohol dependency, other approaches including well-funded specialist treatment, were suggested as better measures to support this group.
