Alcohol labelling “still failing consumers”, says the AHA

Alcohol labelling is failing consumers by leaving key information, such as ingredients and sugar content, off most packaging. That’s the conclusion from a new report published by the Alcohol Health Alliance UK (AHA). A survey of labels on 369 alcohol products found just 6% displayed the sugar content and 20% provided the full list of ingredients. The AHA is calling on the UK Government to make it a legal requirement for alcohol companies to display nutritional information and health warnings on their products.

Sober Spring has sprung

June saw the end of Sober Spring, the three-month break from alcohol, founded by Catherine Gray and run by us. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in or supported the campaign this year. Changing your drinking is no easy feat, but you did it!

We’d like to say an especially big thank you to this year’s host, Millie Gooch, for doing such an amazing job, and all our guest bloggers for writing such inspiring, interesting pieces. You can revisit any of the campaign blogs, including Millie’s weekly tips, on our Sober Spring blog page.

To close the campaign, we held an Instagram Live with Millie, our CEO Richard, and our newest Ambassador Fraser Franks, which is available to watch on our Instagram page.
