John, Happy Independence Day!

As we celebrate today our country’s independence, and reflect on how our union has made strides towards the ideal of freedom for all , I am also thinking of our service members who have, and continue to, risk their lives to protect this sacred freedom we hold. I continue to be forever grateful for them and their families and loved ones, who also share that sacrifice and service.

Through the work of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I remain committed to fighting every day to ensure our veterans and service members have the resources and support they need.

I continue to believe that America is the greatest country in the world . And as we move forward let us continue to do the necessary work to ensure freedoms and protections for all of our fellow Americans. I’m honored to be a part of this work with you.
