You may have seen an email from me last month announcing the release of our inaugural National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health. (If not, check it out here. ([link removed]) )

The survey found that 39% of LGBTQ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year, with more than 50% of transgender and non-binary youth having seriously considered suicide. This statistic shows us that LGBTQ youth are at greater risk of experiencing mental health issues than their straight and cisgender peers, and that the lack of legal protections and support for the LGBTQ community has a negative impact on our youth.
