You may have seen an email from me last month announcing the release of our inaugural National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health. (If not, check it out here.)

The survey found that 39% of LGBTQ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year, with more than 50% of transgender and non-binary youth having seriously considered suicide. This statistic shows us that LGBTQ youth are at greater risk of experiencing mental health issues than their straight and cisgender peers, and that the lack of legal protections and support for the LGBTQ community has a negative impact on our youth.

LGBTQ young people need our services now more than ever. Our research allows us to more fully understand how to best be there for LGBTQ young people and how we can meet them where they are. Our mission is to end LGBTQ youth suicide and we couldn’t do that without supporters like you.
