Dear John,
The people who depend on a healthy Bristol Bay for their
livelihoods and way of life have been fighting against the proposed
Pebble Mine for decades. The Bristol Bay region is home to the world's
greatest wild salmon fishery, generating $2.2 billion annually,
supporting 15,000 jobs, providing 57 percent of the world's sockeye
salmon, and sustaining Indigenous communities.
Sign on to our comment letter today and ask the EPA to issue a
Final Determination that prohibits any plans for the Pebble Mine. Tell
them, we must permanently protect Bristol Bay's headwaters.
Help protect Bristol Bay once and for all:

The Pebble Mine would destroy thousands of acres of wetlands and
miles of salmon streams. It would include a one-mile-wide and
one-third-of-a-mile deep pit and construct massive tailings storage
facilities, treatment ponds, dams, embankments, and build a
270-megawatt power plant.
Protecting this region creates a win for the environment, the
economy, and the communities that depend on it. WWF has long been
involved in efforts to protect the Bristol Bay region from
development, and from our work alongside local and Indigenous
communities, there is no question that the EPA has the support of the
people of Bristol Bay. Ask the EPA to complete the 404(c) process as quickly as possible.
