In the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe, abortion providers in Washington state will likely start treating more patients traveling from other states, which could lead to a 385% increase in out-of-state patients seeking care.

The Supreme Court’s opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization raises serious concerns that data collected by apps and websites – including location data, search histories, and even menstruation tracking data – could be used to target those who seek out abortion care.

The “My Body, My Data” legislation would create a new national standard to protect personal reproductive health data, preventing this information from being disclosed or misused.

We need strong, enforceable rights to safeguard reproductive and sexual health information – and we need reproductive champions in the Senate who won’t give up the fight for reproductive freedom.
