With the sentencing of Ghislaine Maxwell ([link removed]) to 20 years in prison for her role in enabling Jeffrey Epstein’s web of crimes against children, ECPAT-USA ([link removed]) is grateful to the prosecutors and investigators, the jurors, and above all, the courageous survivors who testified about the abuse they experienced at the hands of Maxwell, Epstein ([link removed]) , and their network of co-conspirators.

“Today’s sentencing is about accountability, including our collective accountability to victims who seek to bring their abusers to justice and to all children who are at risk of exploitation,” said Lori L. Cohen, ECPAT-USA’s CEO. “Maxwell is merely one individual in a slew of powerful people who believed their privilege put them above the law when in reality, no one has the right to purchase a child for sex.”
