ANNOUNCEMENT:



The DSA International Committee's Climate and Economics Subcommittee has asked us to let our members know about a webinar this coming Sunday.  



The IMF and the World Bank are two of the most consequential institutions in the world. In theory, they exist to protect the global economy and help developing countries. But the reality has often proved far different. In this webinar, leading experts and activists seek to answer: Why were the IMF and World Bank established? How do these institutions operate? What role have they played in making the world that we have today? And most of all, how can we in the US left join in solidarity with people around the world — from Argentina, to Kenya, to Lebanon — to build a better alternative and a global economy that works for everyone.



Join UMass Amherst economist Jayati Ghosh, the Third World Network’s Bhumika Muchhala, and the African Forum and Network on Debt and Development’s Jason Braganza on Sunday June 26 at 2pm ET, for Session 3 of the DSA International Committee’s Intro to Global Economics series.
